Should you use promotional marketing material?

A lot of businesses keep getting stuck on the same promotional material. They don’t realize that as your business evolves so should your business promotional material.

In the beginning of a business your cash flow is low and more than often you as the business owner tend to go for the lowest possible price when choosing to buy promotional material.

As a business owner you must realize that you must always make the best promotional material that you and your business can possibly afford at that time.

Your customers and future customers to be will always form an opinion of your business by the way your promotional look and the message enclosed. So be proud about the promotional material you hand out.

Also remember, successful businesses always insure they have the best possible promotional material. Always!

So what does promotional material cover?

o Flyers
o Business cards
o Brochures
o Signage
o Uniforms
o Websites
o Newspaper advertisements

A lot of small businesses have very weak or poor quality promotional material, especially flyers and brochures cluttered with mixtures of information, colors of poor choice and so boring that you fall asleep as soon as you start reading it.

So often it is so boring that you can use it as reading material when going to bed.

Sometimes you can’t even make out what they are trying to market.

Remember that it does not matter what your product is that you market; if you want people to get exited, find it interesting and use it then you need to make your flyers and brochures exiting, interesting and usable.

Also your customers will think your company is interesting and exiting and most of all trust worthy.

A lot of business owners have a misconception that interesting and exiting promotional material cost an arm and a leg. This may have been the case before computers and printers were at a premium. This is not the case anymore.

Technology is so cheap lately that even a child with a bit of imagination can design and produce good promotional material.

Should you find it excruciating to produce your own material my suggestion would be to find something you like around you and going to a desk top publisher or graphic designer and have them design you promotional material to your liking.

Please don’t copy other people’s work outright.

At the end of the day you’ll find that to produce a lousy looking brochure will cost just about the same as a well thought out and exiting banner. Then also consider the cost of customers you lost due to lousy promotional material.

You and your business must be proud to hand out your promotional material. Good Promotional Materials give good Sales Results.

I was an offset printer in the 60's, I had a sales organization in the 70's, I sold trucks in the 80's and 90's. All printed material was a big expensive part of doing business. Business people starting out today have a great friend in computer graphics.
