My Ten Successful Business Tips

My observations of successful business entrepreneurs and I do believe they are all equally important therefore they will not be numbered.

Tip: As a business owner or future business owner you most likely must have heard people saying you need to surround yourself with people of a positive disposition; negativity must stay outside the door.

If you don't like what you do then you need to change the nature of your business. But be careful, as allot of people say if you do what you love as a business then you will be successful, not always true, with no demand for your passion you are sure to awaken to a scary place.

Tip: Trust worthiness in a business is paramount; if your customers can't trust you to complete a task on time and on budget you will not be successful.

If you say you will do something for your client then you do it to the best of your abilities, even if the task will not always make you enough profit.

That customer will be back for more tomorrow. Having a customer already is better than having to go and look for one.

Tip: Keep your business organized and tidy all the time. Nothing says inefficient as an untidy office especially if your clients visit.

If you can't keep you office tidy then you are sure to neglect other areas such as your financial side of your business, balancing the check book and keeping all records up to date.

Mistakes are sure to happen in this type of environment.

Tip: As a business owner you need to look tidy and well manicured at all times, even if your business are not doing so well. Nothing says or looks as bad as a business owner looking untidy to your customer.

Sometimes you need to fake it until you make it. Looking good will make you feel better about yourself and your up and coming business.

Well looked after offices also says allot about your business, so keep up the appearances.

Tip: Always complement your staff, when they do well or look good as they are the life blood of your business.

You make them feel good about themselves and they will go the extra mile for you and your business. Keep your golden goose alive. Also remember that you need to compliment your customer and do it sincerely.

And remember to always thank your customer for their business.

Tip: When someone walks into your business premises you need to treat them as a potential customer, even the delivery man from your supplier.

You never know. I'll even go as far as saying you need to treat your competition as a potential customer. They may not always be your competition.

Sometimes you may even have that special product that they can't find themselves.

Tip: Sometimes your cash flow will be low and the lack of cash will make you worry, especially with bills to be paid.

So do yourself a favor work out marketing ways to earn more cash, those bills will not be paid any faster if you keep on worrying about them.

Use your energy and resources efficiently to get the next customer through your business doors.

Tip: Stop following the same old rehashed marketing and business ideas that everybody else follows, they may look successful but they may already be past there sell by date.

Don't stagnate, innovate.

Remember you are not alone in your business; get your staff and family involved in thinking of new ideas to market your business.

Look from their view point. You may be too deep in the trenches to have noticed some new idea. Be receptive to their ideas, get them involved and work out the details.

Sometimes nothing comes from it and then the next big thing happens and your company is it! Encourage them to be innovative and think outside the box.

Tip: Stay away from shady deals, especially where other people promise you things and favors for services rendered that is not above board.

Back hand dealing always comes to light, just when you think that no one saw that or noticed you may get the surprise of your life.

Rather walk down the street with your head held high and be known as an honest business man.

Tip: In the beginning you will be spending 16 hour days at and in your business, it is all well and fine. Balance is the name of the game.

If you work hard you need to play hard. Recharge your batteries, take some time out.

Play with the dog; spend time with your family and friends. Your business will be there tomorrow, but you won't be if you do not look after yourself.

Ulcers, back ache and a battle riddled body sure won't do you or your business any good. A good night’s sleep is fundamental. This is a command - time out.
